This English course will focus on spoken and written communication in a professional setting, with the aim of improving participants‘ fluency and accuracy. The course is intended for individuals who plan to spend time abroad, especially in an English-speaking country.

• Discussing opinions
• Business meetings
• Small talk and casual conversation
• Cultural differences and stereotypes
• Everyday life in a foreign country
• Written communication (e-mailing and texting)
• Telephoning

Your Teacher: Javier Behr, a Harvard graduate in linguistics and a passionate teacher of English for almost 20 years in various settings (universities, companies, language schools)

• Formal basics: structure and outline of scientific papers, figures and formulas
• Methodological basics: scientific research, citation, planning and organizing scientific work
• Scientific writing basics: passive voice, comma usage and other punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, linking words.

When: Saturday, July 1, 2023 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
