Trier University of Applied Sciences Contributes AI Expertise to International Municipal Exchange
As part of the international exchange program "EU Cities Gateway," in which the City of Trier participates together with its US partner city Fort Worth, Trier University of Applied Sciences was also involved last week: Prof. Dr. Georg Rock took part in the meeting of the "Digitalization and Innovation" working group and trained the international delegates from Fort Worth, St. John's (Canada), and the EU Cities Gateway organizing team in the use of artificial intelligence in municipal administration. The involvement was initiated through the university's International Office, which established contact with the program.
Prof. Rock, who represents the fields of Software Engineering and Logic in the Department of Computer Science at Trier University of Applied Sciences, provided practical fundamentals on the responsible use of AI in administrative processes. "The exchange showed just how great the interest of municipalities worldwide is in practical AI solutions," said Prof. Rock. "It was a pleasure for me to contribute our expertise from research and teaching."
On the part of the City of Trier, the project was led by Ms. Limbacher from the Town Twinning team, who organized an excellent supporting program for the delegates. The collaboration and exchange with Prof. Rock will be deepened and continued in the future.
For Trier University of Applied Sciences, the involvement underscores its growing role as a scientific partner for municipalities on digitalization issues.
