Industrial Talks – Start-up and Silicon Valley

The House of Professors team cordially invites you to the second event in our Industrial Talk series as part of the Industrial Mentorship Programme 2026.

With a focus on start-ups and Silicon Valley, our experts Martin Gerten, Co-Founder and CEO of New Tec Consulting, and Dr. Thomas Lauermann former employee of Meta (Facebook), will share insights from their careers in the tech industry. The session will highlight both the opportunities and challenges of the start-up ecosystem, as well as provide first-hand perspectives on the culture and dynamics of Silicon Valley.

The event is specifically aimed at PhD candidates and Master’s students interested in pursuing a PhD who wish to explore alternative career paths in entrepreneurship or would like to gain first-hand insights into the key characteristics of the Silicon Valley.
