Visiting professor from Jordan

The Faculty of Business at Trier University of Applied Sciences welcomed a special guest from June 2 to 20, 2025: Professor Mohammed Fuad Al-Anaswah from the German Jordanian University (GJU) was a guest as part of the long-standing university partnership with Trier University of Applied Sciences. The cooperation with the GJU in Amman has existed for over 15 years and is characterized by a lively exchange of students and university staff.

During his stay, Prof. Al-Anaswah gave a guest lecture in the “Core Business Systems” module with Prof. Dr. Andrea Walkenhorst entitled: “Decision Support Systems (DSS) in Practice: Enabling Smart Decision-Making for SMEs”. The event offered students practical insights into the use of decision support systems, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while also providing an international perspective on the topic.

In a conversation with Jessica Rock, International Business Coordinator at the Faculty of Business, Prof. Al-Anaswah spoke about his motivation for the stay: his passion for teaching, his extensive experience in industry and higher education as well as the opportunity to combine specialist content with intercultural exchange were key motivations for his trip to Germany: “The exchange with students from a different cultural context opens up new perspectives - for both sides.” Trier is a special place for him: “The city is rich in history and culture - far more than I had expected.” He particularly appreciates the multicultural character of the city and the university, as well as the long-standing collaboration with the GJU. “Trier is an ideal place for international cooperation.”
