Would you like to get a taste of living and studying abroad for a few weeks during your next semester break?
A summer school can be an interesting alternative to a semester abroad or serve to gain your first international experiences. A Summer School gives you the chance to establish international contacts, to get to know the respective country together with its culture and, of course, to gain professional knowledge in different areas.
During each Summer School, the focus is on a specific topic and/or a linguistic focus. The courses usually take place during the lecture-free period and usually last 1-4 weeks. The language in which the different programs are held is usually English.

Admission requirements vary depending on the university or programme. Some universities or colleges have language proficiency requirements. This can usually be proven by a language certificate, such as the TOFEL or the grade of the Abitur certificate. In general, proof of the Abitur or Fachabitur must be provided.
Since the locations of the higher education institutions offering a summer school as well as their programmes vary, the costs for a summer school vary accordingly. The organizers themselves often offer help with financing. Possible funding can also be found at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
