Objective: You can define your literature needs, select the appropriate information tools and formulate efficient search queries for your topic.

In Part I you will learn the basics for a successful search:

• You will be given tips on how to determine your information needs and how to select information resources according to your needs.
• An example will show you how to derive a list of search terms from a topic.
• You will learn why you should not always search only for words from a title, and learn how to combine search terms and use wildcards.
