3D Design has become an established procedure in all modern manufacturing processes. In this workshop, I will introduce this fascinating tool to jewellers.
In this workshop we will build and mount settings! We will look at traditional things and explore new, own ways. In doing so, we react to shape, size and material properties of the object to be grasped.
Participants will learn how materials like stones, wood, porcelain, mother of pearl or ready mades can be inserted in the engraved stone to form a unit to achieve an exciting combination of materials and create a piece of jewellery or an object.
The workshop will give you an introduction to lapidary technique. In the foreground is a practical understanding of various processing techniques including cutting and faceting of precious stones. This course is for beginners and advanced workshoppers.
There is this exciting moment of becoming visible when the piece is lifted out of the kit and the work becomes visible from the front, visible in its reality. I am fascinated by the 'sculptural', the forming, whether relief-like or bodily, stroke after stroke. Nothing for people in a hurry!
The workshop will give you an introduction to experiment with metal casting in a variety of ways. We will explore different ways of molding and casting by carving directly into molds of stone, rubber and plaster to give different results. We will use these same molds and models for further development through sand casting and lost wax casting.
Enameling is one of the world’s oldest technologies. Its brilliant colour and durability make it a favorable technique to add colour and pattern to your jewelry and objects. This enamel workshop is aimed for anyone interested in working with enamel, as a way of adding colour and texture to copper. It can be used painted, dripped, sgraffito, layered and ground back, textured and more.
