Information for Erasmus Incoming Students

If you would like to come to our university as an exchange student for one or two semesters:

Please inform yourself early on via our website about our university, the region, and the study programs offered at Trier University of Applied Sciences.

Once you have decided to join us, it is very important that the International Office of your home university nominates you as an exchange student!

Nomination

Deadlines:May 1 (for the winter semester) / November 1 (for the summer semester)

If you would like to complete an exchange semester at Trier University of Applied Sciences, we require an official nomination from your home university (by email to international[@]hochschule-trier[.]de) including the following information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Nationality(ies)
  • Study program at the home university
  • Study level at the home university (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
  • Desired semester for the exchange (winter semester, summer semester, or a full academic year)

After your nomination, the International Office of Trier University of Applied Sciences will contact you by email to guide you through the next steps.

Application

Depending on which courses you would like to take, there may be different information relevant to you, such as applicable deadlines and fees.
Please contact the respective contact persons for details.

However, all exchange students should follow the checklist below to understand what information and documents will be required after getting in touch with your contact person:

  1. Application for enrollment
  2. Passport photo (35 × 45 mm)
  3. Proof of health insurance (or “insurance certificate”)
  4. Copy of ID card or passport
  5. Residence permit (for non-EU countries)
  6. Payment of the semester contribution:
    (The semester contribution for the current semester will be communicated to you – approx. €400.00)

Please clarify the necessary steps in advance with your home university and then feel free to contact our departmental coordinators as well as the International Office.
