"Jewellery is to contemplate the most banal thing and to find the spark in it.
It is the poetry buried in
hardware store, gas station, supermarket,
forest, theme park,
dressing room, airport lounge,
by the river, in the shower,
in the smell of fresh laundry,
in the books when I read,
on the street when I walk,
in the sky when I smoke.
Jewellery is philosophical-metaphysical,
economical-paradoxical,
allegorical-hysterical,
critical and
comical.
Its multiple positions and qualities that go beyond the object itself, such as monetary value, historical context, social and cultural references. Alongside these aspects, I am interested in the way jewellery conveys time and personal narrative, which led me to search the theme of container. Jewellery is a container of time and memory, it absorbs traces of wear, it bears the imprint of the body that wears it, our bodies also function as vessels for emotions and experiences. I want to talk about what a container can be, rather than give a clear definition of what it is. Containment is fluid, the boundaries shift according to perspective and scale, and as these boundaries change the relationship between interior and exterior is also redefined. This is where the word ‘amorphous’ in the title comes in, it doesn’t mean that the container has no shape, instead, the shape changes so much that it has no definite shape, like an amoeba, like water."
