Occupational Therapy (dual B.Sc.)

The Department of Computer Science offers the dual, training-integrated Bachelor’s degree programme in ‘Occupational Therapy’ in collaboration with the vocational schools for occupational therapy run by the Elisabeth Foundation of the German Red Cross in Birkenfeld, MEDISCHULEN in Trier, and Saarland-Heilstätten GmbH in Merzig and Saarbrücken.

The programme focuses on deepening and broadening professional occupational therapy skills, learning an evidence-based and scientific approach to practice, and teaching current theories, models and methods, with the aim of training reflective occupational therapists. Activity-based approaches, client-centred care, a holistic view of clients, and the integration of various environments and potential health technologies are further key areas of the programme.

Our well-equipped assessment library and the Centre for Therapeutic Science Testing and Training provide access to a wide range of different evidence-based assessments and measurement methods.

Cooperation with the existing degree programmes in Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Medical Technology and Medical Informatics at Trier University of Applied Sciences enables students to receive an interdisciplinary education.

Through the integration of theory and practice, you will be qualified to become competent contributors to existing and future, national and international fields of activity within the healthcare sector.

The programme is offered exclusively in German.
