ELViRA

E-learning with virtual reality applications

[TranslatELViRA Innovation Center Head Mounted Display
Virtual Reality illustrative graphics for the ELViRA project

In this research and development project, e-learning applications with virtual reality technologies are created using the example of practical industrial applications.

Head Mounted Displays (HMD) are used here. Here, small display devices (displays) are worn on the head and images or information are projected onto a screen directly in front of the eyes.

Immersive virtual reality applications have enormous potential to present complex processes or data structures in a didactically clearer way. Immersive virtual reality influences the consciousness of the user, so that the virtual environment is perceived as real and merges with the real world. Here the possibility is created to interact directly with the virtually created environment. In engineering, the use of this technology can shorten development and manufacturing processes, e.g. in the field of virtual factory planning, robotics, product development or in design validations.
