News from the Library

Starting October 12, all members of the Trier University of Applied Sciences can take advantage of a four-week trial access to the architecture database “Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals with Full Text.” Access is available via campus computers or VPN.

The database is developed in collaboration with the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library at Columbia University and offers bibliography and full-text journal articles in the fields of architecture and design. Subject areas include:

• historic preservation and conservation
• history of architecture
• interior design and decoration
• landscape architecture
• sustainable design
• urban planning.

The PRIMO research portal of Trier UAS has now been expanded to include an AI assistant that helps you get started with your academic research. 

The assistant offers you:

• Natural language search entry: Simply enter your research question as text.
• Feedback in the form of a short introductory overview based on the first five relevant PRIMO hits.
• Suggestions for related questions.
• Direct access to the complete list of hits and the original sources.

Results are delivered from our library stock and from other electronic PRIMO sources. The assistant is not intended to replace the classic search, but to supplement it with a quick, thematic introduction. As usual, all PRIMO functions are available for further research.

You can find the assistant directly in PRIMO; you must be logged in to the portal to use it.
