„Revision“ goes Jablonec!

Laura Herrlich

The exhibition “REVISION: Between Tradition and Innovation” presents a unique fusion of historical costume jewellery and modern design.

As part of the project, students from five European universities transformed Art Nouveau and Art Deco costume jewellery into contemporary fashion accessories (Technical University of Liberec, University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and Trier University of Applied Sciences, Idar-Oberstein).

The exhibition showcases bold prototypes that combine traditional craftsmanship with new materials and the personal stories of the creators. In doing so, the younger generation is breathing new life into both museum collections and the industry.

Initially presented at Villa Bengel in Idar-Oberstein, the exhibition is now moving on to its next venue: the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou (Czech Republic). It will open there on 22 October 2026 at 3 pm.

Here you will find further information about the exhibition at the Villa Bengel and the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery.
