Double award for Nga Ching Ko: The internationally active jewellery artist is one of the winners of the PREZIOSA YOUNG AWARD 2026 and her piece "Two Egg Leaves" has been selected for the special exhibition SCHMUCK 2026.
The PREZIOSA YOUNG AWARD was initiated by Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School in Florence and honours outstanding young talents in contemporary jewellery. The aim of the competition is to raise the international profile of promising talents and promote intercultural exchange in the jewellery scene. The winning pieces are presented at the PREZIOSA YOUNG exhibition, which tours internationally.
The travelling exhibition will kick off at MIDA – Mostra Internazionale dell’Artigianato in Florence. It will then move on to the SCHMUCKE Gallery in Berlin, the Door Gallery in Nijmegen and the Thereza Pedrosa Gallery in Asolo. This will give the award-winning artists exceptional international exposure. The jury for the 2026 edition consisted of Giò Carbone, Alice Rendon, Laura Helena Aureli, Petra Brenner, Farieda Nazier, Irina Probst, Laura Astrologo Porché, Thereza Pedrosa, Bryna Pomp, Doreen Timmers and Zhipeng Wang.
Participation in SCHMUCK 2026 also underscores the significance of this award. Established in 1959, the SCHMUCK special exhibition is considered the world's most important curated exhibition for contemporary jewellery. Each year, selected pieces from numerous international submissions are presented here – a great honour for the designers involved. In addition to Nga Ching Ko, other graduates of the Gemstone and Jewellery Campus are also represented: Catalina Brenes, Xi Chen, Mira Kim, Jiun-You Ou and Danni Schwaag. The Herbert Hofmann Prize, considered the "Oscar of modern jewellery," will also be awarded to one of the artists exhibiting in the special show.
With her double recognition by the PREZIOSA YOUNG AWARD and her participation in SCHMUCK 2026, Nga Ching Ko is making a strong mark on the international jewellery scene. Her works promise exciting new ideas and should not be missed in Munich in March or at the exhibitions held as part of the PREZIOSA YOUNG AWARD.
