COCKS & CUNTS - Amsterdam Pride exhibition with four Campus Gemstone and Jewellery alumni

To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Amsterdam Pride, The WearHouse in Amsterdam presents the provocative jewellery exhibition COCKS & CUNTS - an international platform that focuses on the body as an expression of pride and protest.

Through an open call, over 40 jewellery artists were invited to draw attention to the representation of genitalia as a manifestation of identity, self-confidence and queer joy.

Four alumni of the Gemstone and Jewellery Campus are among the more than 40 invited artists: Sara Heidary Totshamy, Erik Lijzenga, Stephie Morawetz and Gina Nadine Müller.

The participating artists deal with questions of gender, deviation from the norm and physicality. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue in which the works of the participating artists are illustrated. The catalogue also contains an essay by Lisbeth den Besten and Paul Derrez as well as a comic by Into Niilo.

The WearHouse is an independent jewellery and exhibition space in the heart of Amsterdam, founded and run by Yotam Bahat and Daniel Jirkovský. It combines a studio, exhibition space and meeting place for the jewellery community and offers a stage for experimental, queer and critical positions - and invites you to rethink bodies, materials and social norms.
