Lost and Found by Erik Lijzenga - Invitation to the finissage

We would like to cordially invite you to the finissage with jewellery sale as part of the Idar-Oberstein schmückt sich exhibition programme: 11 April 2024 from 18:30 in the Villa Bengel.

We are looking forward to presenting the works from "Lost and Found" to you. During the exhibition, Erik Lijzenga worked on his master's thesis at the Idar-Oberstein University of Applied Sciences. The finissage offers the opportunity to admire, try on and purchase the resulting (jewellery) works.
Erik Lijzenga created an impressive collection over the course of three and a half months during his research at the Jakob Bengel Foundation. His motivations, which also drive him during his master's degree in Gemstones and Jewellery, are reflected in the works.
His practice is based on found objects that he discovers in everyday life. He sees beauty in small or damaged things, which he gives a new context. His obsession with beads and the metaphor they represent for human ingenuity and craftsmanship informs his work.

We look forward to welcoming you to the finissage!
