As part of the project, international sustainability conferences on the main research areas of Trier University of Applied Sciences are being funded:

• "Applied Material Flow Management and SDGs."
• "Intelligent ­Technologies for Sustainable Development (ITNE) and SDGs."
• "Life Sciences - Medical, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology and SDGs."

The conferences are aimed at (junior) researchers at Trier University of Applied Sciences and partner universities, who will present their innovative research projects, and at employees who support the acquisition of third-party funding. Externally ­invited guests from business, industry, and civil society will be ­involved in­ panel discussions and keynote speeches to ensure knowledge transfer. In addition to increasing the international visibility, the international sustainability conferences will also be an opportunity to ­form cross-disciplinary ­clusters and teams for new SDG-related research projects ­and to break through existing academic silos in interdisciplinary SDG research.
