MADE IN PAIN

MADE IN PAIN treats the painful process of how our body processes trauma and transforms us to new energy. The collection is about visualizing emotions and thus making the process of subjective trauma healing clear. The process work after a traumatic experience is crucial, because depending on how it happens, we process the experience in different ways.

We often talk about traumatic experiences and in the best case about their healing, but what happens in between? Process work forms a certain grey area, because it is difficult to grasp and subjective. How can a process be influenced? To what extent can one take something positive from it? And how can the pain even be transformed into something good?

The collection "MADE IN PAIN" is not about the trauma itself, it is more about letting go, the intuitive working that is crucial and important in the healing process. Because intuitive action, the reflection and perception of the physicality, decisive from the gut feeling, helps to be in the here and now. Furthermore, it conveys that we are alive and helps us not to get caught up in the whirlpool of negative thought streams and let them determine us.
- healing is ongoing

The bachelor thesis deals with and visualizes the process of trauma processing and shows how our body can process painful emotions and bring us transformatively to new energy and heal. The designer has dealt with her personal trauma, the work lives from detached moments and intuitive action during the healing process, it is about letting go and intuitive working, which is crucial and important in the healing process.

Jury statement Andreas Mägerlein: "Anne Marzi has treated herself with her work and at the same time found a form of expression for a large area of psychotherapy that has probably never been dealt with in this way before. This uniqueness offers the chance to think differently about trauma therapy and to find a new form of therapy in a completely new, interdisciplinary way."

"In design, innovation becomes visible and tangible in the true sense of the word," said Minister of Economics Daniela Schmitt. "The creative minds not only design products.... in the process, they also shape the economic transformation processes of our time."

Every year, the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture, in cooperation with the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts and the Designforum Rheinland-Pfalz (descom), awards the prestigious design prize, this year in the product design category. A jury of experts selected seven design prizes and eight awards for outstanding design achievements from a total of 62 institutions. In addition to established companies, innovative and creative student concepts are also repeatedly honored in the "Talents" category.
