Graduate Elena Gorbunova Wins First Prize at "Image and Form" Award in St. Petersburg

Campus Idar-Oberstein was represented by two graduates in Russia. Elena Gorbunova (M.F.A. 2015) and Carolin Denter (B.F.A. 2017) have been invited to take part in the "Image and Form" Award and Symposium in St. Petersburg, from 22nd to 29th of October.

Carolin Denter (B.F.A. 2017) has held a lecture about her jewellery and her professional life during the Symposium at Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg at 28th of October. The Symposium is organized with the School of Jewellery Design "Form" by Galina Kovaliova and took place from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m. accompanied by the Award for Young Designers "Image and Form". The Image and Form Award and Symposium takes place every two years in the Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, Russia. This years theme of the award was "collage". Elena Gorbunova (M.F.A. 2015) won the first prize in the category of Fantasy and Imagination. Her poetic pieces are made from old plastic bags, which she transforms to precious pendants which have aesthetical similarities to the surface of pearls. Her prize included a cash prize, a silver spoon and free participation in next years award.
