The following position is available as of the next possible date within the framework of the Federal programme “FH Personal” in the Department of Engineering at the main campus in Trier:
W2-Professorship for the subject area „Energy-Efficient Vehicles“
This professorship is advertised as a “Schwerpunktprofessur” (main focus professorship) with the aim of sharpening and further developing the profile of the university. Therefore, the teaching load will be reduced to 11 semester hours per week in the first three years of service. This time shall be used to develop teaching innovations, initiate cooperations, intensify transfer relationships or to implement research projects.
The teaching and research area "Energy-efficient vehicles" is a central component of engineering education in the Department of Engineering at the main campus, especially in the Bachelor's degree programmes "Automotive Engineering" and "Electromobility" as well as in the Master's degree programme "Mechanical Engineering/Specialisation in Automotive Engineering".
The position should represent the area in teaching and applied research. It is also expected that the reduction in the teaching load in the first three years will be used for training on the job and taking over the management of the research and teaching project "Team proTRon" (www.hochschule-trier.de/go/protron).
The applicant is expected to have in-depth scientific competences and practical experience in the fields of energy-efficient vehicles and innovative drive technologies as well as a good picture of the complete vehicle development process. Basic knowledge of commercial and special vehicle construction, in the field of mobility of the future or in lightweight construction is also desirable.
The applicant should have completed a degree in the field of engineering or related courses of study that is geared to the above-mentioned requirements. The willingness to take over interdisciplinary basic lectures in the field of engineering as well as to hold lectures in German as well as in English is a prerequisite. We also require a willingness to participate in self-administration.
