Prof. Dr. Patrick Siegfried studied Business Administration in Mannheim and obtained an Executive MBA at the University of Bradford in the UK. He received his doctorate in 2012 from the University of Economics in Wroclaw, Poland with a PhD in "Strategic Controlling in Young SMEs" and in 2014 from the Agricultural University of Kaposvár, Hungary with a PhD in "Service Engineering in SMEs". In 2023 he completed his habilitation/Dr. habil. with the defense on the topics „Sustainable Supply Chain Management“ and „Service Engineering – Digital Service Industry“.
In his 20 professional years, 1987-2008, in the free economy he worked among other things in the food retail trade as sales manager at REWELeibbrand OHG, a sales manager authorized signatory at LIDL GmbH & Co. KG, a management position in food production at Desserts Salate Snacks GmbH, and as commercial manager at Top Logistik Wein International AG (Pieroth Wein GmbH) in the food industry. His experiences in the industry, wholesale/retail, in managerial roles, and personnel/budget responsibility in the areas of purchasing, production, sales, logistics flow into the lectures.
In addition, he has 35 years of logistics experience as a reserve officer in the German Armed Forces, currently serving as a retired Colonel in the Supply Chain Management Department of the Erfurt Logistics Command.
From 2012 to 2015 Patrick Siegfried was a professor representative at the Universities of Offenburg and Mannheim in the faculties of Industrial Engineering and from 2015-2022 Professor for International Management, with the course management "Master International Business", at the ISM International School of Management in Frankfurt. Since 2019, he has a visiting professorship in Entrepreneurship at MATE Agricultural University Budapest, Hungary in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
In October 2022, he took over the professorship "Food Economy, Digitalization and Sustainability in the Food Industry" at Trier University of Applied Sciences.
