In coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Trier, the Business School offers the Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics in dual form.
In the training integrated variant, the dual business studies program combines vocational training in the IT sector with academic training in business informatics, so that both a vocational qualification in the IT sector and an academic degree are acquired within four years.
Benefits for companies and students
For companies, the dual study program has the chance to attract particularly motivated and qualified employees who strive for more than classic commercial training. The dual study program offers students the opportunity to clearly combine theory and practice, to acquire two degrees if necessary and to earn money during their studies.
Anyone with a higher education entrance qualification who has a training contract or employment contract with a cooperation company for the period of study can apply. Companies can approach the university to conclude a cooperation agreement.

Possible employers after graduation
In the first year, the training-integrated dual study program focuses on practical training in the company, which is supplemented by theoretical training at the vocational school.
The study phase at Trier University of Applied Sciences begins in the second year. Dual students attend courses in business informatics during the lecture period, while in-company training takes place during the lecture-free period.
The practical phase takes place in the fourth semester in the training company and ends at the end of the third year with the final vocational examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
In the fourth year, students practice their profession in the IT sector during the lecture-free period in the company and attend the courses of the study program again during the lecture periods.
During the dual course of study, the training integrated variant completes both vocational training in the IT area and the academic degree "Bachelor of Science". The latter entitles you to a subsequent master’s degree.
For a dual study program, a cooperation agreement must be signed between the selected company and Trier University of Applied Sciences.
Interested students apply to a company for a training place (training integrated) or a job (practice integrated). The company enters into a cooperation agreement with Trier University of Applied Sciences. After the contract has been concluded, students are registered at Trier University of Applied Sciences.
