At the international fashion congress "Cheers! World University Student Fashion Design Competition", the Fashion Design Department of the Trier University of Applied Sciences was also represented; it is one of the world's 25 leading fashion universities.

From 6 to 10 November the World University Student Fashion Design Competition took place in Qingdao/China. Students from the world's 25 leading fashion academies - from Milan to New York - were invited. They came together to present their theses to a jury of 20 selected experts.

As in the previous year, the Fashion Design Department of the Campus Gestaltung was also invited to the International Fashion Congress. Representatives of international fashion colleges from fourteen countries and more than 200 guests from the Chinese fashion industry took part. Meetings and discussions led to an international exchange between the professors on forward-looking topics and contents of teaching, on sustainability, internationalisation and other topics. Student Lea Kasper and Christian Bruns, who will occupy the new professorship for digital fashion design at Trier University in the future, represented Trier University in six intensive days.

During the event, student Lea Kasper from Trier University won second prize and was awarded the Silver Shell Award for her master thesis "C TRAIN". For the grand finale of the event, the student works were shown in an elaborate fashion show with award ceremony.
