Dear first semester students,
this is certainly not how we all imagined the start of the new summer semester. The current situation also presents us with new challenges in campus design. But we are still trying to convey the contents of your studies to you in a variety of ways so that you can get off to a good start and study.
According to the current situation, classroom teaching and examinations will not take place again until April 20. This means that there will be no lectures, seminars or other courses on campus until then. Whether it will be possible to come to the campus after that date is still uncertain. But we will probably start with most of the compulsory and elective modules from that date on.
The individual departments have prepared various media to convey the course content alternatively through online seminars, video conferences, exercise sheets or tutorials. Feedback discussions or similar with the supervising professors will also be possible by telephone.
We as designers work very practice-oriented and often also manually with pen and paper or in the workshops. So you can imagine that it is a challenge for the artistic subjects to illustrate the contents exclusively or partially via e-learning. We are therefore considering offering some modules as block teaching, possibly at a later date on campus.
Semester goal 30 ECTS: Due to periods of absence and attendance we unfortunately cannot guarantee that you will have the same learning success in this semester as in the previous semesters. Therefore, please consider individually whether it is possible for you to take some modules in the next semester.
In this extraordinary time it requires from you as a student even more initiative, flexibility and also self-discipline than usual. Please do not hesitate to contact your lecturers or professors directly if you need help. They will all try to give you good support and make corrections, even over the distance. Should you be overwhelmed by the current situation and need psychological support, please do not hesitate to contact a member of your staff at any time.
Updates and information: Please check your e-mails and StudIP again and again to be up to date with the current state of the organization for the summer semester. All developments specific to your field of study will be regularly updated and made available on our website.
