Campus for Design and Art

Two prizes and one recognition at the BDA Study Award Rhineland-Palatinate 2021

Five architecture students from the Design Campus received awards for their student projects. Thus, two of the four prizes and one of three acknowledgements went to Trier. Timo Löw and Dominik Marx received a prize for the design project "Halle+ Gerberviertel Trier" and Frank Burrelbach and Marie Schille received a prize for the advanced project "Living in Symbiosis - Potentials of Plants in Architecture". The recognition was awarded to Tina Schmitt for the project of an elective module "Alternative Natural Burial - Death and Us". The award ceremony took place on 29 October 2021 at the Landesmuseum Mainz.

The Association of German Architects BDA in Rhineland-Palatinate awards the BDA Study Prize Rhineland-Palatinate every three years. This award is a promotional prize for young architects and offers young students the opportunity to distinguish themselves and position themselves. By awarding this study prize, the BDA points to the responsibility of architectural training as the basis for the future quality of the built environment. The cultural significance of planning and building is to be made aware.

The students' submissions and the jury's assessment of the BDA Study Award Rhineland-Palatinate 2021 can be viewed in the project gallery on the homepage of the Department of Architecture.
