Mission statement


The aim of the course is to train creative fashion designers with their own signature, who are able to combine creative individuality, quality craftsmanship, problem awareness and technical know-how in their innovative concepts. Students are offered a course of study that is oriented towards the reality of the profession and meets the diverse requirements that arise from the dynamically developing fields of work in our information and knowledge society. The need for ongoing adaptation to new technologies and social change requires increased perception, flexibility and decision-making reliability.

CAREER PERSPECTIVES
The Fashion Design Department is proud of its excellent graduates, who are now working in numerous areas of the fashion industry. Due to their qualified education, their professional spectrum covers all areas of the fashion industry. Whether at Adidas, S.Oliver, Marc Cain or Boss, in almost all German textile companies you can find today former students of FR Modedesign from Trier. There are also interesting career opportunities internationally: The list of international design houses where Trier graduates have their professional field of activity is long and filled with top-class names: be it Givenchy, Balmain Paris or Donna Karan New York, Alexander McQueen, WGSN London, H&M Stockholm or Prada in Milan. You can also meet them again as lecturers at various universities in Germany. 

The professional fields for fashion designers include Women's wear (DOB), men's wear (HAKA), sports wear, children's wear and knitwear design.

They can also work as costume designers (theatre, TV, media), accessory designers, merchandisers, fashion consultants, fashion journalists, illustrators, product managers, industrial and product designers, directors, stylists or trend scouts. Trained fashion designers can also be found in other areas, such as advertising, press and styling agencies.
