Digital Internationalisation

Funding for Virtual International Guest Lectures

The topic of "virtual mobility" is becoming increasingly important - not only because of the current corona crisis, but also in the context of climate protection and equal opportunities and inclusive participation in educational opportunities. For this reason, international virtual guest lectures by experts from business, industry and academia are to be promoted within the framework of the "Hochschule Trier International" project. To this end, the departments can apply for financial subsidies for fee payments.

Training & Best Practice Series "Internationalisation through Virutal Exchange & Blended Mobility"

The strategic integration of digital elements offers numerous opportunities for the internationalisation of teaching, from the integration of virtual guest lectures in courses to purely virtual transnational project work in individual degree programmes and more complex international blended mobility projects, also involving practice partners from industry and business. These can, for example, present real challenges to the international and interdisciplinary project teams and thus bring a practical dimension to the preparation for the international job market.

You can sign up for the following trainings via email to haw.international(at)hochschule-trier.de by completing the registration form.

  • 10.07.2020, 13:00-14:30 What is virtual exchange?

Brief concepts for the digital internationalisation of teaching

In cooperation with the Institute for International & Digital Communication at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, short concepts for digital internationalisation are currently being developed and will be published shortly. These concepts are intended to ensure both a continuation of the international exchange at the University of Applied Sciences Trier in the current situation and to expand and sustainably extend existing offers in the future in times of face-to-face teaching. The short concepts for digital internationalisation are aimed at creating a cost-effective, modern and environmentally conscious expansion of physical exchange, which can be implemented without too much extra effort and thus makes it easier to integrate international aspects into teaching.

On the one hand, non-mobile students are to be given the opportunity to gain international and intercultural skills for the global job market "at home", and on the other hand, study stays abroad are to be prepared and followed up even more intensively through the meaningful interweaving of real and virtual mobility. The Hochschule Trier International Team and the Institute for International & Digital Communication will be happy to advise you on how to implement the various concepts in your course.
