Internationalisation Strategy

A comprehensive internationalisation strategy for the entire university

Internationalisation as a cross-cutting issue par excellence can only succeed in the long term and sustainably if it covers all fields of action and is actively lived by all groups of people - from students and teachers to administrative staff. The aim of the project is therefore to systematically bundle the numerous international activities at Trier University of Applied Sciences in a comprehensive internationalisation strategy that encompasses all levels of the university - from studies & teaching, research & technology transfer to structure & culture.

The strategy development is based on three pillars:

  • Online surveys on the internationality of Trier University of Applied Sciences for a) lecturers, b) staff, c) international students and d) German students
  • Expert interviews with deans, international relations officers, professors, students and service institutions with particular international commitment on the opportunities, potential and challenges of internationalisation
  • Preparation of statistics and analyses of selected profile data on internationality in the areas of study & teaching, research & transfer, structure & culture to produce a SWOT analysis and an internationalisation report on the current status and perspectives of internationalisation

Through this participatory process, all members of the university have the opportunity to share their experiences, wishes and suggestions for improvement with regard to internationalisation and thus to actively participate in the design process.
