Vocational Orientation

We want to support you with our best efforts to enable you to fulfil all the obligations of the Federal State of Rhineland-Palatinate regarding vocational orientation at schools and to present our range of services:

Information events at schools

Many schools conduct vocational information in the form of "school information days". The Trier University of Applied Sciences offers participation at these events. The range of services extends from lectures and study programmes to fair stands and university presentations. These information events can be adapted to the school' s requirements. In special cases, individual departments or the dual study programmes can be introduced. Besides, one-on-one consultations are always possible.

Parents information evenings

Parents have a legitimate interest in the educational and study opportunities of their children. In the meantime, many prospective students are not of the age of consent during the decision-making phase. In cooperation with the schools, the Trier University of Applied Sciences, therefore, offers parents' evenings at which the university and the courses offered can be explained, and questions answered.

Information day for people interested in studying and working at the university

The Trier University of Applied Sciences organises an information day in its buildings every year. On this particular day, interested students can get to know the campus and the courses it has to offer. There are also many information events in the departments as well as field and laboratory tours. Besides, each department presents itself at an exhibition stand and offers personal consultations.

Meet & Greet at the job fairs

The Trier University of Applied Sciences also participates regularly in career information fairs in the region. There it presents itself with its range of courses and is available to interested students for questions and individual discussions. The fair presentation takes place in cooperation with the departments so that a well-founded consultation concerning content is guaranteed.

Introductory Study Course

Potential students have the opportunity to get to know the university better during a taster course. They can attend events and get to know the students' life. To guarantee the credibility of the teaching, taster days take place in individual consultation with interested participants.

University attendance by school classes

School classes have the opportunity to attend university in a class group. In consultation with the faculties, teaching units can be held or the range of courses presented. Laboratory tours and content workshops can also be held. Also, it is always possible to visit the cafeteria at reduced rates.

Individual talks at schools for pupils, teachers and parents

The Trier University of Applied Sciences offers one-on-one interviews during school hours at the respective local schools. If a significant number of pupils require counselling, a local student advisor can provide individual advice on the range of courses offered by the university.

Besides, individual interviews for parents can be offered as part of the parent-teacher consultation days.

Studis-for-Studis

Interested students have the opportunity to contact current students directly. Questions about student life can, therefore, be answered at "eye-level". Under the email addresses frag-die-studis(at)hochschule-trier.de and instieg(at)hochschule-trier.de students of all disciplines can be contacted. If necessary, students can also be placed for question hours at the schools.
